Palmerton Hospital, established in 1908, was the first hospital in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Some news articles and a few discovered photos link Palmerton's ambulance services back as early as this.
Palmerton Community Ambulance was founded in 1945 and operated out of the "Old" West End Fire Company in Palmerton.

In 1972, it incorporated as a community non-profit ambulance association. Throughout the years, the organization grew, including acquiring Sander's Colonial Oldsmobile Car Dealership in 1981, where we still are today.
